About Me:
I am a Registered Dietitian, Certified Dietitian Nutritionist, and Board Certified Lactation Consultant. I have worked in a variety of settings including the Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), a birthing center, a food bank, and a residential substance use treatment facility. My areas of expertise include maternal and infant health, lactation, gestational diabetes, pediatrics, mindful eating, disease prevention, substance use disorders, and facilitating interactive workshops on nutrition and breastfeeding. I am sensitive to those dealing with food insecurity and mental health struggles and use a trauma informed approach. With my supportive and encouraging demeanor I will help you achieve your lifestyle and health goals. Thereby, keeping you and your children active and fed nutritiously.
Education and Training:
I graduated from Buffalo State College with a degree in Dietetics and Nutrition Sciences in 2008 where I trained in a variety of settings including local hospitals, nursing homes, and nutrition programs. In 2009, I became a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) and later earned my International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) certification, in 2013, while working with the WIC program. I received my certificate of training in Childhood and Adolescent weight management in 2015. And I have been featured in both the Buffalo News, and at the University of Albany School of Public Health Breastfeeding Grand Rounds. I enjoy learning new areas of nutrition and I’m constantly seeking knowledge so that I may better serve you!
Fun Facts:
- I enjoy learning new forms of dance and I participate in jazz and tap weekly at my favorite local dance studio.
- I like to travel with the goal of visiting every state, in the U.S.!
- I have a strong love for Buffalo, NY, where I partake in hiking, camping, kayaking, stand up paddle-boarding, and visiting local restaurants and businesses around Western New York.
